Senior Director, Consumer Experience Design
Ignacio currently heads Motorola’s Design Centers in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Bangalore and it is responsible for design for the EMEA and India regions. These teams include Interaction Designers, Industrial Designers, Human Factor specialists, Surface Engineers, Advanced Mechanical designers and CMF specialist. The group focuses on the development of a range of global solutions, from entry level phones to the most advanced multimedia devices or fashion oriented products.  Ignacio is also part of the global leadership team for the ‘Consumer Experience Design’ group shaping Motorola’s Design Strategy and Design Language.

1999 - 2001. Sapient
Lead Creative Director
The focus of Ignacio’s work at Sapient was to build the Creative Design group for Sapient's headquarters in Cambridge MA. The group included disciplines such as Brand Strategy, Visual Design, Information Architecture, Content Strategy and Site Development and grew from 12 people to 60 during his time in the role. His main task was to develop the necessary infrastructure for the group to succeed, setting up a leadership team, working on business development and creating the right environment to build a design community. He also undertook the role of creative director, providing the overall creative leadership to the group and worked on the integration with other disciplines such as Experience Modeling, Strategy and Technology.
1997-1999 IDEO Product Design
Head of Interaction Design
IDEO is one of the the world's most innovative design consultancy. As head of the Boston's interaction design group, Ignacio’s remit included the project management of interdisciplinary teams and client liaison. He was also responsible forevangelizing the interaction design values and point of view to other disciplines. The interaction design group specialized in product interaction in which software and hardware are considered a single unit designed to achieve the right user experience. The range of products that the group developed included interactive showrooms, electronic books, networked appliances, interactive kiosks and web applications for national and international clients.
 
1994-1997 Hayes Davidson
Design Director
Hayes Davidson is an award winning British company specialized in 3D, interactive and on-line design and produces high quality 3D visualizations for some of the best British architects such as Richard Rogers or Norman Foster. The company develops interfaces for interactive displays, presentation systems, software and web sites. The projects involved concept generation, design, development of mock-ups for user testing and implementation. As Design Director, Ignacio had to supervise the interactive design team and liaise with clients. Hayes Davidson produces also high quality 3D visualizations for some of the best British architects such as Richard Rogers or Norman Foster.
 
 
1994 Antonio Perez Escolano / Diseño y Comunicación.
Senior Designer.
Ignacio’s job as a lead designer involved the brand development of a direct marketing product for the cosmetic sector, named Guapa.
The project was divided in various areas:
Design of a fashion magazine also called Guapa.
Creation of a personal distribution pack, for product samples and the magazine.
Development of the brand identity for the project, catalogues and presentation brochures.
Commercial display design.
 
 
1993-1994 NovArt Design.
Designer / Art director.
NovArt is a design studio located at the Andalusia Technology Park included in a E.C.C. business innovation center (BicEuronova). Ignacio worked on the development of brand identity, packaging, and interface design services for Spanish customers. He worked as studio manager, graphic designer and art director. He was also responsible for setting up the computer network and staff recruitment.
 
 
1991-1993 Comma i Associats.
Designer.
Ignacio helped 'Comma' to build a new department for computer aided design. During his 18 month tenure, he covered a wide range of graphic design projects, including editorial, corporate identity,and packaging. During this time Ignacio worked as a freelance illustrator for a sister company called Ponsic Disseny

I am currently the proud co-owner of the fantastic design house Lovely&Co (do go and check it out). Before Lovely, I used to head Motorola’s UK, Singapore and Bangalore Design Centers and was responsible for Experience Design for the EMEA and India regions. Prior to Moto, I ran design groups in a number of multinational firms including Sapient and IDEO creating solutions for companies like Xerox, Polaroid, Fila and IBM.
 
My work has been reviewed in several magazines including i-D Magazine, Domus, Wallpaper and Design Week as well as books such as IDEO; Masters of Innovation and ON-OFF; New Appliance Design.
Bio
I have received few design awards such as the IDSA Design Excellence Award, ID Interactive Media Award and i-D Magazine Award. Some of my work has been exhibited in Boston, London and Hong Kong and I have been  a member of the Advisory Board for the British Design Council and curated an exhibition about Spanish design in Tokyo
 
I studied design in Spain and the UK. I have also lectured at leading design schools including the Rhode Island School of Design, the Massachusetts Art Institute and the Art Institute of Boston. I often give lectures on design at conferences around the world.
I have been working as a designer and creative director for the last 20 years creating a wide range of products and services; from fashion magazines to some of the worlds’ best selling mobile phones. In this page you will find what I've been up to.
